10-Week Art Immersion
Year: 2008
Country: Dominican Republic
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $330.00
Project Launch:
World Connect’s Kids to Kids program awarded a $330 grant in 2008 that supported the necessary materials for a 10-week art class for kids who gained basic art skills that would otherwise be unavailable to them due to lack of funds and limited after school activities. Students learned to pain, sculpt, draw, and they focused on Eco-art and promoting recycling. Project leaders noticed an increase in self-confidence in the kids when it came to trying something new; at the start of the classes the students all copied each other’s work. After a few weeks of art classes, the students all began to show originality and pride in their individual work.Explore other Projects
