People of group village headman Chiundira T/A Msakambewa, Dowa agreed to a project of constructing a school block to be used as both a Community Based Childcare Center (CBCC) and an adult literacy center. The project will help reduce high school drop out cases early and forced marriages in the area and improve literacy levels. A total of 262 Children and 145 adult literacy learners are expected to directly be impacted by this project.
The construction of adult literacy and school block construction project at Chiundira T/A Msakambewa, Dowa is going well. The project is currently at ring beam level. Once the project is completed it will help reduce high school dropout cases, early and forced marriages in the area and improve literacy levels. A total of 262 Children and 145 adult literacy learners are expected to directly be impacted by this project.
The Chiundira Village Development Committee has used a $9,378.00 co-investment from Mudzi Connect to construct a child-based care centre (CBCC) in the area of Traditional Authority Msakambewa. This structure, which is ready, serves as a safe and conducive learning space for 130 children under five years old (70 girls and 50 boys) and 285 adult learners (162 women and 125 men) participating in literacy programs. Beyond its educational impact, the centre benefits the entire community, offering a proper venue for meetings that were once held under tree canopies. This initiative has become a cornerstone of learning and community engagement in Chiundira Village.
