Chiquillos Creativos! ("Creative Kids!")
Year: 2010
Country: Peru
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $231.55
Project Launch:
The three-day art and creativity camp, Chiquillos Creativos, was incredibly successful. It focused on arts, individuality, creativity and self-esteem, emphasizing artistic self-expression when funding for artistic supplies is limited. The kids freely expressed themselves and were able to break away from the traditional ways to make art through the activities that encouraged “thinking outside of the box”. The project was important because, in this region of Peru, school budgets do not allow for comprehensive art education. The camp demonstrated to the kids, and the Peruvian art teachers who facilitated the camp, that arts education is feasible, important and effective even in resource constrained situations.Explore other Projects
