REEL Community Learning Improvement Project
Project Launch: 11-15-21
REEL Community Learning Improvement Project is taking place in Agbado. Agbado is a peri-urban community in the south-west part of Nigeria. Quality Education is a scarce commodity in this community; there is one government funded high school, two elementary schools an influx of second rate private schools to cater to a population that is over 400,000. Reel foundation has founded a community-learning hub in Agbado, south-west Nigeria, to provide access to learning materials - books, educational games and technology - for children aged 7-12 years old. REEL Community Learning Improvement Project aims to distribute educational tablets to 50 participants across two host communities- Agbado and Ikorodu. They believe that with access to a learning tablet, the children can personalize their learning experiences and have access to a wide variety of tools and resources available online to enhance learning. These educational tablets will be preloaded with Educational Content that they can access as members of the community Learning Hubs. They plan on working with teachers in the two communities to develop educational content suitable for ages 8-13 years of age. The content will focus on Literacy, Numeracy and Entrepreneurship.
