Women's Garden Enclosure Fencing Project
Project Launch:
The Village Chief in Guede, Senegal gifted a large plot of uncultivated land to the local women’s group to create a community garden. Unfortunately, their protective fence is not strong enough to keep out goats, which roam the village and have been destroying their crops. Everyday, two women must remain in the garden from morning to sunset to shoo away the goats. This project will support the women to build a durable fence around their garden, allowing them to plant new crops, increasing their personal income and the village’s access to nutritional foods.
