Engaging Community Women in Smart Farming and Food Processing
Project Launch: 12-20-19
The community organization will train and mentor 800 women and youth across six cooperatives and associations on hydroponic techniques and sack farming to produce fruits and vegetables. The World Connect grant will fund equipment to process, package, and market locally produced foods. The community organization will support participants with materials to start their businesses, such as seeds, packaging materials, etc. The project will help the target beneficiaries reduce hunger, expand their businesses, create new opportunities for those not engaged in any economic activities, and also improve their standards of living.
