Hathaway Brown - Connecting US
Hathaway Brown is an independent girls' school in Shaker Heights Ohio. They have a foundation called GROW (Girls Reaching Others Worldwide).
"Founded in 2000, The GROW Foundation is a student-run foundation dedicated to funding service projects and awarding grants to support nonprofit organizations’ missions. The Foundation raises money, awards grants, and participates in service projects of its own. The Foundation seeks to fund projects that will help causes anywhere from Cleveland to countries worldwide. The main goals are to fund worthy projects and to encourage youth philanthropy. GROW willingly accepts proposals from all people from different races, genders, and age groups."
The GROW foundation solicits applications to review as a group. They fund their favorite projects. In 2017, GROW supported this World Connect project in Nicaragua and then Skyped with the community and Peace Corps Volunteer to learn more.
In 2018, GROW supported this girls' education and empowerment project and Skyped with the girls participating in the project to learn about each others' daily lives!
