Year: 2011
Country: El Salvador
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $300.00
Project Launch:
Laguna Verde is located high in the mountains of Western El Salvador. The residents are of Spanish and Native American heritage. Few continue their education past the sixth grade. What if the curriculum were more fun, more relevant to the nearly 200 students there? Would they stay longer, study harder? What might be the effect of integrating information technology? Would Kids Connect agree to fund a laptop computer to show educational videos, broadcast music, display various websites; in other words to bring students, their teachers and the community into a new reality? Done deal.Explore other Projects
