A Likely Story Library
Project Launch: 4-26-17
Mulindi, Rwanda has a growing school but lacks a developed library, limiting the amount of literacy and critical thinking the school can facilitate among its pupils. The project proposes the construction of a library room, the purchase of books, the retention of a librarian, formulating programs and classes for students and community members which directly supports the Rwanda Education Board's objective of fomenting a culture of reading in Rwanda. The library will inspire personal growth and will help close the gap of disconnect to the outside world.
Project Update: 9-4-17
The library has been built and the project participants are selecting books and ordering materials from several publishing houses in Kigali.
Final Report: 11-9-17
The library is now complete and students have taken such an interest in reading there that the librarian has scheduled hours for different grades to use the new facility. A meeting will be scheduled in the coming weeks to introduce parents and the surrounding community to the features and benefits of the new space.
