Acquisition of drugs, equipment and health staff for Ntura Health Post

About this Project

A local NGO, Spirit of Peace and Solidarity (SPS) is partnering with World Connect Rwanda to bring health services closer to the population of Ntura in Giheke Sector of Rusizi District, in the South-Western Province of Rwanda through the operationalisation of Ntura Health Post. Local residents have been travelling 7+ kilometers to access health services at the Giheke Health center which has been a challenge for expectant mothers and children travelling such a long distance with no reliable means of transport. 

A $4,800 investment from World Connect Rwanda will support the hiring of medical staff and acquisition of initial drugs for use at the health post. Once these are in place, the health post will be enrolled in the Ministry of Health & RSSB Licensing program where residents will be able to access treatment using the Community health insurance (locally known as Mutuelle de sante) at a low cost. 

The Health post is expected to generate income and be self sustaining by the end of 6 months because they will be reimbursed by the Ministry of Health & Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) for treatment services provided to the patients using health insurance
