The construction of sanitary facilities and renovation of the school classroom block at Mwale Primary School in Rumphi district is progressing really well. Within two months, using 60% of the grant, they constructed eight sanitary facilities with doors and frames already fitted. They are remaining with roofing and painting. They have also managed to renovate the school block up to ring beam level with roofing, flooring and painting remaining to complete the structure. Once completed, the renovated furnished classroom block and the new sanitary facilities will provide a conducive learning environment to over 400 pupils per year. The project will reduce class absenteeism as both boys and girls will be motivated to attend classes, thereby improving their academic performance.
