CAMMICS Mobile Microfinance Project
Project Launch: 2-21-18
CAMMICS Mobile Microfinance Project is using mobile technology to increase financial inclusiveness in rural areas among rural and semi-urban women and youths who are considered “unbanked” by formal financial institutions. The goal is to deploy mobile technology to increase financial inclusiveness in rural areas using mobile phones which are turned into account numbers. Participants are then able to receive loans from CAMMICS through their mobile phones, pay back their loans, save, and cash-out their savings.
Project Update: 6-5-18
To date, 85 women have been trained in small business creation, health education, child nutrition and healthy parenting. 13 microcredit loans have been given to women to start small businesses.
