Camp JUMP (Campamento para Jo?venes Unidos Motivados para el Progreso--Camp for Motivated Youth United for Progress)
Project Launch:
The health post in the small, rural community of Vicos, Peru will hold a three-day, two night camp for 40 teenage boys from across the greater Ancash region, focusing on leadership and success skills. University representatives will hold a college fair and professionals from various fields will hold a career fair. In addition, the camp will engage in preventive health activities focused on malnutrition, hygiene, emotional health, family violence, alcoholism and sexual health. Each participant is expected to return to his community and to lead post-camp service project such as mural painting, social theatre, radio programs and dynamic community talks.
