Chinkanda Under Five Clinic project
Project Launch: 11-1-23
Mothers of 180 to 200 under-five children of Chinkanda, T/A Msakambewa travel long distances to access basic primary health care services especially for children. The proposed under-five clinic project will allow members access immunization, malaria checks and treatment, growth monitoring and other services closer. In the end, reduced cases of child mortality, distance reduction, and pregnant women will have access to the much needed healthy services during pregnancy as well as increased access to family planning services.
Project Update: 4-30-24
Just one month after agreeing to co-invest in a project to construct an Under-Five Clinic at Chinkanda Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa District, Chinkanda VDC has constructed it up to roofing level. Supported by National Bank of Malawi, this project is targeting over 200 under-five children from over 8 villages of Chinkanda group village . Once completed and in full use, the project will reduce distance women travel to access under-five services leading to reduced cases of child mortality as well as provide pregnant women access to family planning and postnatal services. -
