Clean business center
Project Launch: 8-27-24
Clean Heat Solutions, located in Chikapa Village, Neno District, will utilize a co-investment of $12,733.30 to diversify the skills offered at the community training center, aligning with local demand and ensuring sustainability. In addition to the existing tailoring and welding/fabrication courses, the project will introduce Information Communication Technology (ICT) courses, addressing community needs while creating more job and business opportunities. To support this expansion, the center will procure 10 additional tailoring machines and extra welding equipment, complementing the current setup of three sewing machines and one welding machine. All participants will receive business and financial management training, preparing them to start their own businesses upon completion. This initiative will increase the center’s enrollment capacity to at least 50 students per cohort, with each cohort running for five months, followed by a month dedicated to evaluation and recruitment. The center aims to operate two cohorts per year, ultimately serving a total of at least 100 students annually.
Project Update: 10-31-24
With a $12,733.30 representing 60% Mudzi Connect co-investment, Clean heat Solutions has made significant progress, fully wiring the building and applying for electricity. Security at the center has been enhanced with door protectors, alarm locks, and the hiring of a security guard. The project has also purchased 11 computers (10 for training and 1 for administration), computer desks, a printer, an internet router, and various accessories such as wire cables and padlocks. Additionally, 8 new sewing machines were procured, bringing the total to 10 for the tailoring program. The group will use the remaining 40% to purchase the remaining materials, allowing the training sessions to begin and enabling the center to fully operate and serve the community.
