In this project, Zingani Village Development Committee in Traditional Authority Msakambewa, Dowa District intends to complete the construction and furnishing of Maiwe Primary School Library. Among others the remaining works include flooring, painting, and furnishing the library with shelves, chairs, and tables. Once completed, the library will serve 541 students from 26 surrounding villages, providing access to a wide range of literature and academic resources—ultimately enhancing learning outcomes and academic performance at the school.
The construction of a school library at Maiwe Full Primary School, implemented by Zingani Village Development Committee with support from Mudzi Connect, has been successfully completed and is fully operational. The activities in this phase included plastering, roofing, and flooring. The facility has been furnished with chairs, teachers’ desks, bookshelves, and stocked with reading materials. The library is currently being used by both learners and teachers for study circles and lesson preparation, benefiting all 541 enrolled students from 26 surrounding villages. While the impact on academic performance will be assessed at the end of the school term, early observations show increased learner enthusiasm for reading and improved access to learning resources.
