Project Update: 1-16-25

The construction of the Maiwe School Library in the Zingani Community, under Traditional Authority Msakambewa, has made remarkable progress through a collaborative effort between the community and Mudzi Connect. The structure's walls are now complete, with remaining tasks including plastering, painting, skirting, flooring, and roofing. This significant milestone has been achieved within two months of receiving 60% of the project funding. Once completed, the library is expected to serve as a vital resource, providing access to additional reading materials for 541 students. This development is anticipated to substantially improve the student’s academic performance and overall learning experience.

Final Report: 9-17-25

With a co-investment of $6,557.40 from Mudzi Connect, the Zingani Village Development Committee, in collaboration with the school's management committee and community members, has constructed a new library at the school. Designed to include office space for teachers, the library is nearly complete, with only a few remaining tasks such as painting, grass fitting, and flooring before it becomes fully operational. Once completed, the facility is expected to benefit 780 students by providing access to additional reading materials and resources. Expressing his satisfaction with the project, 49-year-old Eliford Kwachera who is Group Village Headman Katema, said: "As a community, although the project's full completion has been delayed due to funding shortages, we believe it will have a lasting positive impact. Our students will now have access to a modern library where they can enrich their learning through additional reading materials."
