Constructing New Toilets at Luwangwa Primary School

About this Project

Following the destruction of their toilets by Cyclone Freddy in 2023, students and teachers Luwangwa Primary School have remained without sanitary facilities, with girls and women particularly affected during menstruation. Therefore, the community has prioritized the construction of new school toilets. With your investment of $8,000, the Namulenga Development Foundation in Mulanje, Malawi, will co-invest $3,200 to construct a four-toilet bathroom facility for boys, a four-toilet bathroom facility for girls with an attached changing room, and a two-toilet bathroom for teachers, providing 1,323 students and 13 teachers with hygienic and dignified sanitary facilities while reducing the absenteeism of female students during menstruation.
