Cool Learning Spaces
Year: 2010
Country: El Salvador
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
Thanks to the New Cool Learning Spaces project that was launched with support from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program in 2010, the students in Cacahuatalejo, El Salvador have a new outdoor library where they can learn in and out of school. The project built the space and provided the supplies needed to hold classes that are more interactive and that emphasize reading and computer use. As a result, the information technology center was enhanced to correspond to new English and information technology curriculums, the number and range of books and other reading materials now forms the basis of a community resource library, and there is now an outdoor geography classroom/study center in the space in front of the new world map mural. These resources are helping students improve in the fields of English, information technology, geography and reading and enabling them to compete with their urban counterparts as they move on to high school after graduation.Explore other Projects
