Developing Vocational Skills for Marginalized Youth

About this Project

Vocational training can equip youth with the practical employment or self-employment skills for their adult lives. With your investment of $8,000, The Samaritan Trust in Blantyre, Malawi, will co-invest $5,700 and transform a vacant section of the Vocational Skills Training Center campus into a bricklaying workshop facility to provide hands-on training in this vocation for marginalized youth. The workshop and toilet facilities will be equipped with accessibility features (ramps, handrails, wide entrances, etc.) to support the inclusion of youth with disabilities. Once complete, the new bricklaying workshop will train youth with market-relevant skills to support their futures.
