About this Project

This project aims to enhance the role of Chachi women in territorial governance within the Chachi Nationality in Ecuador, where their participation in decision-making is limited and their needs are largely unrecognized. The initiative focuses on diagnosing the roles, needs, and aspirations of Chachi women to propose actions that improve their quality of life and community development. Key activities include workshops to train women and youth on individual and collective rights, women’s roles in combating climate change, community resilience, and women-led entrepreneurship.
A gender and development specialist, alongside the FECCHE technical team, will facilitate workshops featuring thematic talks, SWOT analyses, surveys on gender inequality perceptions, and group discussions to identify needs and gaps in entrepreneurial ventures. The project will also share successful women-led initiatives and FECCHE’s achievements with allies. Most funds will cover logistics (transport, fuel, food, lodging, office supplies) and facilitator compensation, ensuring accessible, impactful training to empower Chachi women and youth in territorial governance.
