My Green Classroom
Project Launch:
This project in the local primary school in Boumalne Dades, Morocco aims to change local classrooms into green spaces and to install a schoolyard garden, to engage students as responsible, active learners in caring about and preserving the environment. In the school, small groups will be formed and given the responsibility of protecting plants and maintaining the integrity of the green classrooms.
Project Update
A bare classroom was successfully transformed into a more ascetically pleasing green space with plants and colorful murals. The students are more engaged in their school environment and are taking care of the schoolyard garden. The students participated in environmental classes and are helping raise environmental awareness throughout the rest of the school.
