About this Project
Madzumbi Aggregators in Lilongwe District currently produces Thanzi Lathu nutritious porridge flour for local healthcare and community institutions. However it currently struggles to meet 31% of its annual 48-ton demand due to a low-capacity, weather-dependent solar hammer mill that processes only 100 to 200 kgs daily. Led by Benjamin Kapalamula, the enterprise will utilize $9,194.75 co-investment to procure and install a high-capacity electrical hammer mill capable of processing 1,000 kg of grain per day. This upgrade will resolve the existing processing bottlenecks, activate the full capacity of their previously installed solar greenhouse dryer, increase annual flour production to at least 41 tons and boost annual dividends for its 50 members by more than 30%.
