World Connect’s Kids to Kids program awarded $475 in 2009 to initiate the Las Trancas Mural project at Centro Escolar Canton Las Trancas, a school in El Salvador where students painted murals and signs to improve their community, communicate health promoting messages to their peers, and provide a healthy activity for participating kids. 241 kids participated and reported that they not only enjoyed the activity but also appreciated the opportunity to participate in something out of their normal routine.
