The Malipa Village Development Committee, with support from World Connect, has launched the Malipa Goat Pass-on Project with a $5,490.58 grant co-investment. Targeting 80 households across three Group Village Head areas, the project will provide goats, training in husbandry, and support for kraal construction. Goat Management Committees will oversee breeding and animal health. The initiative will improve access to meat, manure, and income, while building household resilience and sustaining livelihoods in Malipa.
Malipa Village Development Committee, with support from Mudzi Connect, is implementing a Goat Pass-On Project to empower 80 households economically through smallholder goat rearing. The initiative provides breeding she-goats to initial beneficiaries, with offspring passed on to other households, promoting income generation, access to manure for crop production, and the ability to meet basic needs such as school fees. So far, 70 goats have been procured and distributed to 70 community members and three communal kraals. Remaining activities include purchasing the last 10 goats and conducting a handover ceremony to ensure that the project is well publicized and celebrated in the community.
