My safety app is a project taking place in Kaduna North, Nigeria. With an estimated population of 423,580 people, Kaduna north is the largest contributor to the Kaduna state economy. Due to the impact of the Covid19 pandemic there has been recent economic instability in Kaduna North, leading to an increase in banditry, kidnapping and herdsmen terrorists’ attacks. Subsequently, this has affected the educational and Agricultural sector in the state. Women, girls and people living with disability are vulnerable to the challenging situation, they are either killed, raped, forced into early marriage, or sexually abused by criminals. “My Safety App '' aims to provide information and strategies that can help to protect people in Kaduna North, especially women/girls from all forms of violence and abuse. This project will prioritize safety and protection of women, access to information and services, education, enlightenment, social interaction amongst peers, a channel of communication between the community, security experts and law enforcement agencies for reporting any deviant behavior leading to crime reduction and decrease in human rights violation.
