Waste Plastic Recycling
Project Launch: 12-4-20
In Kaduna South, Nigeria, recycling isn't commonly practiced. This project aims to create a recycling facility in which plastic waste can be properly recycled and even upcycled into interlocking floor tiles and road pavement blocks. The enterprise will sell the upcycled construction materials to construction companies, schools, and other enterprises. They have already identified two consistent customers. They will sell shredded plastics to a local recycling company. Community members who bring plastic waste to be recycled will be compensated with cooking gas, school supplies, charcoal, and food supplies. The impact of this project will be twofold, improving environmental standards by incentivizing plastic waste recycling and providing economic opportunities for members in the community.
