Science Resource Centre
Project Launch: 10-11-19
Avenorpeme, Ghana and its surrounding villages have a total of 8 schools, none of which currently have science laboratories. The nearest science center is seven kilometers away, a long trek for students and teachers. As a result, only 40% of students are passing standardized science testing, limiting their options to pursue higher education. With this grant, Project Classroom Ghana seeks to address this education gap by building a science resource center. The center will have the capacity to serve 620 students from the surrounding villages. This center will cultivate an interest in science among students and give them an understanding of foundational science concepts. The goal is for 80% of students to pass their science exams and continue on to university.
