About this Project
Luso Leather Crafts seeks to improve access to affordable footwear while creating economic opportunities for youth in Kazembe Village, Zomba District. With a $4,940.56 co-investment from Mudzi Connect, the project will procure two modern cylinder-bed shoe-stitching machines, increasing production capacity to approximately 3,000 pairs of locally made shoes annually. It will also train 20 young people in practical shoe-making and footwear production skills. By combining vocational training with local footwear production, the project will strengthen youth livelihoods, create employment opportunities, and improve access to durable, affordable footwear for both children and adults in the community and beyond.
