Over 460 learners (246 females and 222 males) at Njolomole Primary School faced a significant risk of hygiene-related diseases due to inadequacy of safe and hygienic toilets, forcing them to resort to open defecation; equally affecting their classroom attendance. To address this challenge, the community, in partnership with Chamanza Community Foundation, diaspora individuals, and well-wishers, mobilized resources totaling $2,487.97. This amount was equally matched by Mudzi Connect, enabling the construction of additional four toilet rooms and two urinals at the school. The project will improve sanitation facilities, mitigate health risks, and promote dignity, attendance, and learning outcomes. Through active community participation, including labor, supervision, and in-kind contributions, a sense of ownership and responsibility for the facility was reinforced, ensuring its sustainability and impact of the project.
