Turning Waste into Value

About this Project

With your investment of $4,800, the Wonderful C. Classic Enterprise and surrounding community in Lilongwe, Malawi, will co-invest $1,400 to expand its existing and innovative waste-to-value business, transforming plastic waste and natural fibers into eco-friendly products, such as sandals, reusable bags, and bracelets. The funding will purchase an industrial sewing machine, manual sewing machine, and shoemaking equipment, which will increase production and improve the quality of the products. Building on the enterprise's existing production activities and strong engagement with the community, the project not only aims to reduce plastic pollution but also to create employment and income-generating opportunities for community members.
