Cajabamba is a beautiful community in Peru that many community members have designated the “7 Wonders of Cajabamba”, though few have visited all seven spots. With a grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program in 2011, students traveled to and painted the local waterfalls, hot springs, and lakes that make up the “7 Wonders of Cajabamba”, and had the opportunity to learn about the world outside Peru through the World Map Project. The students painted a map of the world in their town's coliseum while learning about different cultures, traditions, languages, and geography. Through the “Wonders of Cajabamba & Beyond Project”, students learned to respect their environment, express their creativity, and gained a more extensive knowledge of the world in general and their community specifically.
