Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $499.98
Project Launch:
Students at the Amlan National High School in the Philippines range in age from 13 to 16. They speak their native dialect, Cebuano, but they take English and Filipino classes because outside this region of the Philippines, those languages are more widely spoken. World Connect Kids was asked for help in increasing the leadership skills of third and fourth year students. Specifically, in the form of the Amlan Padayon Leadership Camp. Padayon means to continue in the local dialect, significant because students will apply the leadership skills they learn at the camp in the community. The fourth year students will attend a weekend-long leadership training in the fall, and they will design the camp agenda and host their younger peers at a similar camp in the spring. Topics may focus on leadership skills, environmental topics, art, music or any other subject.Explore other Projects
