Project Launch:

Semillas de Esperanza (Seeds of Hope) is a women's small business association in Los Angeles de Nandayure. Its members collaboratively operate a successful artisan business and many of the women also operate their own individual small businesses. Although they are achieving great success, business growth is limited by their lack of access to technology and their inability to access credit. World Connect is therefore stepping in and partnering with a local community credit enterprise to increase its capacity to serve this enterprising group of women. With World Connect support, the community credit enterprise, currently operating with pen, pencil and calculator, will purchase necessary digital equipment, train the women entrepreneurs to use the new technology to improve their business skills, and as a result, rapidly increase its capacity to provide low-interest loans in support of the women of Semillas de Esperanza.
