The intersection of design and business is a topic most kids in the northern coastal community of Las Delicias, Peru do not think about. With support from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program, Creo en la Creatividad ("I Believe in Creativity") provided a place for kids to use their imagination to create unique income-generating crafts. They sold their products in the local market and learned important business skills in the process. Although the craft project were basic, the emphasis was on creating unique and original designs and high quality finished products. Kids learned how to sharpen basic skills and learned new valuable business lessons. Most importantly, they learned to be creative and open their minds to art and design. The goals of the project were to encourage creativity and critical thinking in business development and to boost self-confidence among all of the participants.
