Engaging Minds Center
Year: 2009
Country: Dominican Republic
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $320.00
Project Launch:
A $320 grant was awarded by World Connect’s Kids to Kids program in 2009 to establish a library for La Asociacion Dominicana De Rehabilitacion (ADR), a school in Santiago, Dominican Republic, that provides learning opportunities for students ages 6-16 who have special needs. The library offers resources in special education to teachers, parents, and community members and provides space where students from the school and surrounding community can have a quiet place to read. For a population with little interaction with the school, the library increases awareness of special education and helps integrate students with special needs.Explore other Projects
