The Oidor Arts and Environmental Stewardship Club
Year: 2010
Country: Peru
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Environment
Project Investment: $443.00
Project Launch:
The children of Oidor, Peru, were getting sick at an alarming rate as a result of generations of contamination and a lack of trash management services in the community. People threw trash out their windows, burned trash in their backyards, and were generally surrounded by litter wherever they went. With a $443 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program in 2010, the Oidor Arts and Environmental Stewardship Club was launched to promote artistic expression and creativity while building a healthier world. The Oidor Club provided a dedicated space and time during the week for kids in town to express themselves creatively, while also learning about environmental management, trash collection and recycling practices, and to propose solutions to the town’s trash management problem.Explore other Projects
