Waste to Resource Empowerment Programme (WREP) for Internally Displaced Women in Waru
Project Launch: 8-19-21
Pigbakasa-Waru is a small community on the North-eastern end of Abuja Municipal. This area accomodates about approximately 1,000 households and hosts a number of informal settlements of displaced persons who settle amongst other indigenous people as well as urban migrants. Many women find it difficult to find income-generating occupations, leaving them dependent on thier male counterparts to provide. The proposed project, Waste to Resource Empowerment Programme (WREP) provides a semi-mobile vocational center that helps displaced wolmen in Waru transform waste materials into new products that they can sell.
