World Connect Rwanda
Supporting locally-led development in Rwanda by co-investing in the ideas and priorities of Rwandan communities.
World Connect
Rwanda
World Connect Rwanda is a non-profit organization that activates the power inside Rwandan communities by co-investing in their development priorities to solve their most pressing challenges.
Since 2012, World Connect Rwanda has invested $650,000 in 157 community-initiated and led projects, toward which communities have contributed $504,000 and raised an additional $243,000 from other investors.
Through its varied network of local development champions, World Connect Rwanda has supported locally-led development projects across all the four provinces of Rwanda and the City of Kigali. These projects are designed and implemented by local community members who ensure that the initiatives solve their most pressing issues and continue to sustain benefits for their communities beyond the seed investment from World Connect Rwanda.
Our co-investment partnership model advances development by distributing project grants and supporting sustainable capacity development through community management of projects. World Connect’s methodology leads to skill growth, expanded trust and unity, and readied communities with localized development leadership.
Our primary areas of co-investment are in education, health, economic opportunity and income generation, environmental protection, water, hygiene and sanitation, and agriculture, while empowering women and youth to lead these local development initiatives.
