Children At Play In Barbacoas
Year: 2011
Country: Costa Rica
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
Barbacoas is a rural, agricultural community in Costa Rica that mainly grows coffee. The region is mountainous region and most residents are poor. The community center provides the hub of daily life, both feeding locals and those who travel distances to farm, and providing preschool services to families who work. Staffers take pride in taking care of the children’s physical and educational needs, but one thing they weren’t able to do was provide outdoor space for the kids to play and get physical activity. A $500 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program in 2011 equipped a small recreation area where kids can now run around, play and get much needed physical activity in their school day.Explore other Projects
