Project Launch: 4-8-20
This project is a vocational training for adolescent girls age 14 to 18. The first month will be dedicated to teaching participants how to make soap, beads, decorative hats, and ankara slippers. One week will be dedicated to each activity. The second month will be focused on business skills, including marketing and social media. The project will close with an exhibition where participants will have the opportunity to present their work to their parents, the media, and the public. Each of the girls will be linked with a mentor in the business field who can support them in building their businesses. The girls will become facilitators at future annual trainings. Future trainings may include different skill sets such as carpentry or shoemaking according to changing trends.
