Creating a Clean and Healthy Belize River
Year: 2011
Country: Belize
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Environment
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
The Belize River Valley is home to the Community Baboon Sanctuary, the first protected area in the world formed entirely from the donations of privately owned land. The River Valley is also home to the BelRiv Youth Conservation Association, a youth group whose mission it is to promote conservation, develop leadership and professional skills, and build relationships among youth in the Belize River Valley to foster responsible and productive citizens. With support from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program, the group has the resources needed to conduct regular roadside and river clean-ups to help create a cleaner, healthier environment for all species that call the Belize River Valley and Sanctuary home. In addition, the new supplies can be rented out to raise funds to assist the BelRiv Youth Conservation Association in covering their minimum operating expenses, ensuring the sustainability of the group.Explore other Projects
