Project Launch:
The aim of this project is to increase the capacity of community health workers in Boudnib, Morocco, a community of about 6,000 people. Lectures will be presented by the Association Guir Pour la Lutte ontre le Diabetes a Boudnib (The Association for the Struggle Against Diabetes) in elementary, middle, and high schools about blood glucose screening and diabetes, and there will be five community education, outreach and screening events held in partnership with the nearby community hospital. The project builds on the strong capacity of the Association to detect and combat the illness in a region that is seeing increasing rates of adult onset diabetes.
