A $1,549 grant to Girl Power in Costa Rica in 2008 through World Connect’s Kids to Kids program, supported the meetings and field trips involved in club activities. Girl Power can be a life-transforming program for adolescent girls who come from neighborhoods where half of the families are classified as high risk. This project provided a positive, participatory environment in which all participating adolescents felt safe and supported. Participants learned to value themselves, their communities and the world around them and because of this, participating girls increased their self-esteem and became enthusiastic about their personal development,Explore other Projects
