Love for La Montanita
Year: 2011
Country: El Salvador
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
La Montanita is located in North-Eastern El Salvador with 430 households spread across hilly terrains with intermittent waterfalls. The area is known for its henequen, a natural plant fiber that is used to make a variety of handcrafted items such as sacks, hammocks and hats. Local kids have a passion for sports but lack the necessary equipment to play. With $500 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program in 2011, real sports equipment was purchased to give youngsters the opportunity to learn new sports and develop the skills that come from organized sports: leadership, teamwork, pride, self-esteem and confidence.Explore other Projects
