Project Launch: 10-13-16

Mereto is a large village with very limited access to sanitation or bathroom facilities. As a result, open defecation has lead to high rates of disease transmission, diarrhea, and resulting malnutrition. Working with the nearby Health Post and health workers, this project will provide 50 households with double pit latrines and handwashing stations, as well as provide an opportunity for families to participate in health education workshops focused on sanitation, hygiene, maintenance of latrines, and soap-making.

Progress Update: 2/7/2017

Construction is halfway done on 25 latrines and the rollout of handwashing workshops as well as creation of tippy-tap handwashing stations will soon begin.
