Mnazi Electricity Installation Project
Project Launch: 6-2-16
Mnzai is a village ward close to the Kenyan border with a population of 10,261 residents. The ward was recently connected to the national grid in 2015, providing a reliable source of hydropower to select households. This project will expand the power line to connect the local health center and secondary school to the grid, allowing the clinic and school to operate longer hours and to better cater to the needs of the community.
Project Update: 10-11-16
After meeting to delegate project-related duties, the community has begin to install the lines and conduits required for electrification. Construction continues.
Final Report: 3-6-17
The electricity system has been installed. The arrival of power has allowed the health clinic the future capacity to acquire equipment to treat and diagnose patients. The school will now be able to host its own school laboratory for science students and obtain equipment such as computers in the future as the facility now has the requisite infrastructure to support a computer lab.
