Organic Body butter training for rural women
Project Launch: 11-16-21
Organic Body butter training for rural women Imafon is taking place in the Imafon community, Akure, Ondo State. Imafon is a growing community with a population of over 2000 people. It is strategically located as it connects Igunsin and Ilado communities of Akure North Local Government area. The community is headed by a king who oversees decision-making together with a group of chiefs and elders. Because of the male dominance in this community, women are marginalized and not given an opportunity to be included in decision making regarding their homes. In addition, the girl child is not supported by most of the families after they complete their Junior Secondary Examination. Therefore, they are more vulnerable to teenage pregnancy, early marriage, and gender-based violence. The Organic Body butter training for rural women is a project that aims to continue to address this challenge by training 10 women in the Imafon community, Akure, Ondo State on how to make body cream using organic materials like Coconut oil, Shea butter, and Essential oils. The training will be for 2 months and will cover how to make different organic body creams for different skin types. In addition, the training will teach the beneficiaries how to extract oil from coconut and mix perfume. At the end of the 2 months training period, the successful participants will join the skincare cooperative that the organization is setting up to drive the sales and market of the products they are making.
