August Pine Ridge Club GLOW
Year: 2009
Country: Belize
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
A $500 grant was awarded through World Connect’s Kids to Kids program in support of the August Pine Ridge Club GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) in Belize in 2009. The club worked with their young participants to develop leadership skills, provide additional education opportunities, and focus on empowering the young girls within their communities. Club GLOW provides a positive outlet for girls to become more active in their villages as positive role models to their peers and outside of after-school meetings, and girls also have the chance to make a direct impact in their communities by planning and carrying out a community service project. The young female participants in this particular program built their confidence, learned about new opportunities, and came out of the experience empowered, energized, and excited to take what they learned home, into their classrooms and back to their community.Explore other Projects
