Team Spirit
Year: 2009
Country: El Salvador
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $454.00
Project Launch:
A $454 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids program in 2009 helped El Palomar school district staff in El Salvador turn informal street games into soccer and softball teams with jerseys and proper equipment. Intramural games were even held against nearby village schools on the weekends. Many students in the region do not finish high school and project leaders hope that by offering structured, fun, after-school soccer and softball programs, student enrollment will improve, and the general education level of the village will gradually increase. The kids who have participated to date have learned team values and social skills while improving their soccer and softball skills, among other sports and activity skills.Explore other Projects
